Abstract In this paper, we discuss the design and the implementation of the IEEE 802.11e HCF Controlled Channel Access (HCCA) simulation modules. The purpose of building up a HCCA simulator is to provide a reliable simulation environment, which supports full HCCA functionality as well as allow simultaneous simulation with Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) features. In order to accomplish these purpose with a minimum effort, we implemented 802.11e HCCA features on top of the wireless LAN model suite provided by OPNET. By comparing the simulation result with the theoretical estimation, we evaluated the functionality of our HCCA module
